It’s little wonder that Brigitte Calls Me Baby’s waves feel so significant in the UK. Touring with The Vaccines earlier this year would’ve given them a push, but a New Romantic sound that’s trying to be as much like The Smiths and The Cure as much as humanly possible is a far more long-lasting commodity. Thus, it’s no wonder they already find themselves in a venue like Manchester’s O2 Ritz, off the back of March’s sophomore album Irreversible that seems to be doing rather well for them. With rising indie star Tom A Smith in tow, Brigitte Calls Me Baby’s bid for something significant doesn’t look to be slowing down any time soon. Ben Whitehurst headed over to check it out.
