Ah, SNAYX—one of the reliably rousing names among the current class of alternative risers. They really have cut their teeth just about everywhere, to where you’d be hard-pressed to find an environment that’s unfamiliar to them, or a stage they’d struggle to make their own. After a packed festival season, a club tour like this might appear pretty easy to knock out, though SNAYX aren’t exactly known for sleepwalking about. With their taut concoction of post-punk, alt-rock and all the swagger in the world—plus a support set in tow from Scotland’s own skyrocketing punk noiseniks Soapbox—they’re about ready to tear a swathe across the UK all over again. Dean Cavanagh headed down to Manchester’s (very sweaty) Deaf Institute to check out the carnage.
