A pretty special one here, for a couple of reasons. For starters, it’s part of War Child UK’s Day of the Girl concert series, raising money for women and girls affected by conflict worldwide, with £14,000 being raised at this show alone. On top of that, you’re unlikely to catch a band like English Teacher at a venue like this any time soon. They’ve spent the last couple of years on absolute tear through indie-rock and post-punk, solidifying a status of burgeoning importance with their Mercury Prize-winning debut This Could Be Texas. It’s a one-of-a-kind show for a great cause, captured for us by Dean Cavanagh.
