On this year’s Day of the Dead (well, the day before but, y’know, details), there’s a lot of noise going on in Manchester. In the year-and-a-bit since their debut WOOF. hacked apart punk, industrial and electronic music and reassembled a monolith, Fat Dog have earned the clout to take over Aviva Studios for their own ‘Day of the Dog’ celebration. It’s not surprising they’ve rocketed so far so quickly; before they’d even released a note of music, they were being lauded as one of the UK’s most vital new live acts. Now—in costume for the season (naturally)—they’re taking that reputation to its greatest heights yet, caught for us by Dean Cavanagh.
