The buzz around Dot To Dot Festival really does speak for itself. In an ever-expanding calendar of metro-festivals looking to break the next big thing, it’s become a real highlight for just how expansive its bill tends to be. It helps that being spread across both Nottingham and Bristol brings some added flexibility to its local undercards, but there’s plenty even beyond that. Just take this year, where prized top slots come from punk’s ever-acerbic powerhouses Lambrini Girls, and Fcukers, one of electronic music’s most celebrated current names.
There are mountains more to come across in our exploration around Bristol’s venues, too. Ratboys and Rocket have their credentials as indie-rock faves locked in, with BROOKI, Office Dog and Marsy striving for similar in future. It’s also true of punk, as PISS stand as one of the style’s most exciting up-and-comers and Lacross Club look to follow suit. There’s even chance to make the most of the latest of the UK’s ever-more-normalised heat waves, thanks to Blossom Caldarone, Afternoon Bike Ride and Katzpascale taking to the Thekla’s dockside. With all of that going on, Ross Peacey spent the day around Bristol to check it all out.
