There’s just no slowing Cancer Bats down, is there? Not even a month ago, they were last in Bristol as part of their UK jaunt as Bat Sabbath; since then, they’ve released a whole new album and are back to celebrate. Somewhere like Rough Trade is already the optimal environment for rough-and-tumble hardcore’s most excitable party-starters, but with Give Me Dirt now under their belts—another titanic achievement to add to their ever-expanding list—it’s even more right. It just pushes all the right buttons for a great time at a show like this, topped off by a signing that somehow keeps that max-level tone just as high. Ross Peacey headed down to catch the action.
