LIVE REVIEW + PHOTOS: Tom Grennan – Haydock Park Racecourse, Newton-le-Willows – 20/06/2026

Fresh from performing at the Isle Of Wight Festival, Tom Grennan brought his infectious energy to Haydock Park Racecourse on Saturday evening, kicking off its summer concert series in style. Despite the horse racing being cancelled due to a sinkhole, it did nothing to dampen the mood. If anything, the crowd seemed even more determined to make the most of the occasion, creating a festival-like atmosphere from the moment the gates opened.

Support came from Love-Islander-turned-popstar Wes Nelson, who got the crowd warmed up with a lively set, while rising talent Micheal Aldag impressed with a confident performance that showed exactly why he’s one to watch. With the traditional racecard absent, both acts played a key role in building anticipation ahead of the evening’s headline performance.

As the sun began to set over Haydock, Tom Grennan took to the stage to a huge reception from the Merseyside crowd. From the opening moments, he had the audience in the palm of his hand, delivering a set packed with fan favourites. Tracks including Little Bit Of Love, Found What I’ve Been Looking For, Remind Me and By Your Side had thousands singing along at the top of their voices, while newer material was equally well received. His boundless energy, powerful vocals and genuine rapport with the crowd were evident throughout. Whether bouncing across the stage or taking time to interact with fans between songs, he created an atmosphere that felt both intimate and celebratory despite the scale of the event.

Given the disappointment of the racing being called off, it would have been easy for the evening to lose some of its spark, but the music more than made up for it. Thousands of fans soaked up the sunshine, enjoyed a fantastic night of live entertainment and proved that not even a sinkhole could sink the atmosphere. A brilliant night at Haydock Racecourse, with Tom Grennan delivering a feel-good headline performance that provided the perfect soundtrack to a memorable summer evening.
