PHOTOS: Cast – O2 Academy, Liverpool – 22/12/2024

It’s no secret that Liverpool music fans tend to take care of their own, especially around the Britpop circles that continue to percolate into the city’s music even decades later. So it’s only natural to have Cast close off their year with a pair of big hometown shows. They’re the kind of band who can comfortably rely on nostalgia waves now, at a firm distance from their 2010 reunion where plugging away, catering to an existing audience and recognising their roots in all of that is a good way to go about.

That said, Cast’s calendar for 2025 is already shaping up nicely—they’re supporting some band called Oasis, if you know them—so perhaps a shot of homecoming glory is a nice little prelude for what’s to come. They’re joined by fellow locals Silent-K in doing so, and our photographer Ben Whitehurst headed down to catch it all.
