PHOTOS: The Lottery Winners – O2 Academy, Liverpool – 28/02/2025

The last time we caught The Lottery Winners was about two months ago, between Christmas and New Year at one of their shows / end-of-year parties in Manchester. The situation now is far more standard—a tour in support of their new album KOKO, albeit a few week’s off from its delayed release date, but going ahead regardless. After all, The Lottery Winners have become prided in indie-pop circles for one hell of a live show, new music or not. They’re one of the most consistently entertaining bands to come from that world, and as ever, impressively when it’s an independent venture for them.

So here’s where their 2025 begins in earnest, and only looks to be ramping up from here. KOKO’s release will likely herald their biggest year yet, and at this stage, you’d be foolish to deny their abilities to grab it with both hands and every ounce of strength they possess. As they swing into Liverpool alongside The Covasettes and Honey Motel, Sarah Grace headed over to catch it for us.
