Regardless of what you think of thrown, the name they’ve made for themselves is undeniable. There is a journey that’s now firmly etched into the metalcore annals—this Swedish band with a short, spare catalogue, racking up ludicrous numbers of streams that surpass even modern genre stalwarts. Whether those streams are ill-gotten or a display of savvy that most in their field don’t have is irrelevant to the greater discussion. The point is, thrown’s name is pretty far out there now.
So much so that their clout has parlayed to an equally ludicrous support bill. Joining them are Japanese metalcore mavericks Crystal Lake, rap-metal bruisers UnityTX and the UK’s premier nu-metallers Graphic Nature, all of whom seem way past mere opener status at this point. Maybe that’s just the pulling power of thrown, though. They probably need some heavy hitters behind them when a headlining set finds them shrouded in near-darkness and could encompass the entirety of their sub-hour discography, but the pedigree does overshadow that. Will Robinson headed down to their Manchester date to catch it all in action.
