Despite the wholesale cancellation of their North American tour still feeling like a fresh jab to throw, The Black Keys’ perceived lack of popularity clearly doesn’t extend as far in the UK. Sure, they aren’t on a huge run right now, but they’ve always felt like a relatively stable presence regardless, as stalwarts of the modern blues-rock wave that held on when other power-duos fell. This show is part of Manchester’s Sounds Of The City concert series, which, in itself, is not nothing. There’s at least enough of a pulse around The Black Keys to give them these big opportunities, especially with support from Northwest indie fave Miles Kane and Manchester’s own fast riser Alex Spencer.
