Is there a more fitting way to spice up your Friday night? Melanie C’s long and storied career in music still has some strong footing. A more house- and dance-pop-oriented new album in Sweat isn’t a bad move, and existing pop star clout doesn’t hurt whatsoever. Being in the Spice Girls (AKA the biggest group in the world in one point) has afforded a veritable career of leverage to be used in whatever way seems fit. And it’s not like Mel C has to do these album release shows; it’s clearly a want, not a need. And regardless of any opinions on an artist or trajectory like this, you can admire that willingness to build those intimate moments.
