PHOTOS: Michael Kiwanuka – O2 Apollo, Manchester – 13/03/2025

Over a decade since his debut Home Again, Michael Kiwanuka has been keeping on it in earnest. Not to the level of visibility that being the winner of the BBC’s Sound Of 2012 brought, mind, but certainly in keeping with what’s expected for an approachable, middle-brow indie / soul / folk songsmith. Myriad award nominations and wins at a rather consistent rate speak for themselves, as does continuing critical acclaim as recently as last year’s Small Changes. It’s an admirable enterprise that Kiwanuka has forged for himself, to where wrapping up a UK and European tour in the fittingly plush climes of Manchester’s O2 Apollo is all too appropriate.
