A bit of a significant one, this. Not only is it The Get Up Kids’ first ever show in Wales (which, in a 30-year career, seems inconceivable when you think about it), but it’s also in celebration of Something To Write Home About’s 25th anniversary. The run itself is an expansion on a more comprehensive UK tour a couple of months ago, though that kind of makes this even more special. They’ve gone out of their way to return in a pretty intimate space, paying tribute to what’s often regarded as one of the most seminal emo albums of all time. It’s quite the out-the-way little experience that, to the right demographic, could easily produce something unforgettable. So with that in mind, Ross Peacey headed over to catch these emo legends do their thing.
