21st Century albums don’t get more influential than Jimmy Eat World’s Bleed American. It’s a foundational text of modern emo whose ripples are still felt among the scene today, and at a time when big anniversary shows are all the rage, why not give it its time? That’s been the M.O. of Jimmy Eat World’s current UK run, playing some pretty huge outdoor shows in celebration of their seminal work’s 25th birthday. They can certainly justify the size of these venues, too; it’s not like this is an overreach by any stretch of the imagine. So, at their Cardiff Castle show, Ross Peacey headed down to catch a true modern classic in all its glory.
