You could easily think that this is a downsize for Split Chain. Their profile has been at some pretty steady heights, especially over the last year with the release of their debut motionblur. Of course, the obvious explanation is that this is all going to plan. Even with their grunge and alt-rock affects, Split Chain’s hardcore side has always rang out the loudest, and thus, the intimate sweatbox of Bristol’s Exchange seems a perfect fit.
There’s also the undercard who’d be even more at home here to consider. False Reality have taken UK hardcore by storm lately, and Roman Candle‘s reputation in screamo has ballooned in the extreme, not least with their myriad visits to these shores just this year. Crucially, both have joined forces with Split Chain on their debut’s recently released deluxe reissue, so when Rachel Rigby and Piper Ferrari lend some keen assists, an already-wild time just ramps up even further.
