There’s a lot about Arlo Parks that stands out even among similar singer-songwriters. Her work generally seems more layered with a deeper bench of influences, something that’s been true since her 2021 debut Collapsed In Sunbeams. Elements of soul, indie-pop, R&B and more make for an overall concoction that’s only become more refreshing as it’s gone on. That’s certainly true of her new album Ambiguous Desire, and its establishment of Parks as an artist with a lot more fluid and well-rounded creativity. It’s on full display as her tour arrives at Manchester’s Albert Hall, shot for us by Ben Whitehurst.
