Even if The Cribs are far from the pinnacle of indie-rock relevance anymore, you can’t fault their longevity. Next year will be the 20th birthday of Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever, the closest thing they’ve got to a seminal album. On top of that, this tour isn’t exactly a trot around the UK’s dives and basements, either. Manchester’s Albert Hall is not a humble space by any means, and regardless of your impression of The Cribs in their current state is, it’s worth commending that they can still reach up here. And with fellow indie-rockers / post-punters Courting in support, there is profile to this bill that, if you’re so inclined, probably bumps its stock up that bit more. Dean Cavanagh headed over to catch the action.
