It’s always interesting to see the direction and expedience with which a new pop star will rise. Lauren Spencer-Smith is far from a household name, but despite notching some chart success in both the US and her native Canada, the UK seems to have embraced her the most. Fingers Crossed and Flowers did exceptionally well over here, and a headline run that’s sold remarkably well would suggest traction that’s reasonably longstanding. They’re solid-sized venues, too; for an artist who’s ostensibly a newcomer (even if she did release her second album in June), Spencer-Smith seems to already have the reach to take her far.
