As far as doom-metal goes (and specifically its sub-class death-doom), few names are more legendary than Paradise Lost. Their influence has spanned decades at this point, starting off a bit more rudimentary, reaching their apex with 1995’s Draconian Times, and keeping it up from there. The fact that this year’s album Ascension has similarly been bathed with acclaim really only proves the steadfastness of their status, and a fairly monstrous tour in its wake hints at slowing down being far out of the question. As they make their stop in Bristol, Ross Peacey headed down to catch these icons in action.
