If Die Spitz aren’t on your radar yet, that’ll change soon. An opportunity as immense as opening for Olivia Rodrigo won’t go unnoticed, after all. What’s noteworthy about that is how Die Spitz are no kind of obvious choice for that. In a blend of alt-rock, punk, grunge and other distinctly ‘90s stimuli, they really do feel as though they’re building their own thing in DIY fashion. But clearly, the cogs are turning, and the boost offered by last year’s great album Something To Consume is really starting to be seen. Between that and a set at Download behind them, Die Spitz’s moves are about to feel more significant than ever. At Bristol’s Electric, Ross Peacey went to check it out.
