2026 will be the year of The Scratch. It’s already started off exceptionally strong—Pull Like A Dog is far and away their best album—but already, you can see just how much is in store. Their festival season alone feels pretty packed, as they look to dart around every space they can fit into even slightly, and claim it as their own. That’s the beauty of The Scratch—there’s no one else like them, and they take full advantage of that. With their combination of metal and Celtic folk, they’ve put in the work to not pigeonhole themselves; at no point does this feel anything like a gimmick. And with an upgraded show for their current UK tour’s Manchester date, a lot of people seem to be appreciating it. Will Robinson headed over to Academy 2 to catch it all.
