Things seem to be right on course and moving forcefully for NewDad at the minute. Last year’s debut Madra was a runaway success in its blend of shoegaze, pop and indie-rock, and clearly recognising the angle they’d launched at, its follow-up this year Altar was even better. Clearly it’s all landed in the right way, too. This is the first date of their newest UK and Ireland headline tour, immediately preceded by a run across Europe to suggest how considerable their forward movement is. Chances are they’ll be among indie’s inescapable vanguard over the course of the next few years, as Dean Cavanagh headed down to check out at their Manchester show.
